LION CURTAIN TIEBACK CROCHET PATTERN

by admin

I’m always working on expanding my range of crochet patterns.   There are days that it just doesn’t work out and everything has to be started again! And then there are days where it all comes together.  My monkey is so popular for nursery decor, but i have wanted to work on the safari theme for some time, adding to my giraffe, elephant and zebra tiebacks.

As always choosing the right coloring was vital. I love Stylecraft special aran yarns for my amigurumi projects. The colour lemon and gold seemed to be right for my new creation.

For this project I used worsted weight yarn, with a 3mm crochet hook.

I thought as lions are ‘King’ i needed to create something special for him, something to make him stand out from the rest…I wanted to give massive hair… so i thought i’d give him a mane that was like candyfloss. This took me a while to make but i think he’s worth it!

For this project i used 9mm black safety eyes and brown coloured cotton yarn for the facial features and I used a wire brush for his mane and tail.

Happy crocheting!!!!!!!
